Our Values
At ALLORA we believe that thoughtful design extends beyond the garment itself.
How something is made matters just as much as how it looks and feels.
We are committed to responsible production, considered design and supporting the people and industries behind every piece we create.
Ethical & Local Makers
ALLORA is proudly made in Melbourne in partnership with a highly respected garment manufacturer with more than 35 years of experience producing garments for some of Australia’s leading designers.
Working locally allows us to maintain close relationships with the makers behind our collections and ensures that the people producing our garments work in safe, ethical environments where their rights are protected.
By choosing ALLORA you are supporting local craftsmanship and helping sustain Australia’s independent fashion industry.
Considered Production
We produce our collections in small, thoughtful runs to minimise excess stock and reduce waste.
Rather than overproducing garments, many of our styles are recut in response to demand. This approach allows us to maintain a more responsible production model while ensuring each piece remains considered and intentional.
To further reduce waste, our pattern pieces are laid using computer-graded markers to maximise fabric efficiency. Any remaining offcuts are recycled or donated to fashion students and makers.
Fabrics
We prioritise premium fabrics selected for both quality and longevity.
Many of our garments are crafted using wool and wool-cashmere blends chosen for their durability, warmth and timeless appeal.
The merino wool used in our knitwear is proudly Australian and fully traceable from farm through to maker, ensuring responsible and ethical sourcing.
Packaging
We aim to keep our packaging simple and responsible.
Swing tags are printed locally in Melbourne on recycled paper and attached using natural cotton thread. Orders are shipped using biodegradable satchels or recycled cardboard boxes wherever possible.
